QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER
(1990)
This western, directed by Simon Wincer in 1990, relates Matthew Quigley 's (Tom Selleck) adventures, an American who just arrived in Australia. After the unloading, he's accosted by a strange woman, Cora, (Laura San Giacomo) who calls him Roy. After crossing the australian prairies, they went to the Elliott Marston's (Alan Rickman) ranch because Quigley has heard that Marston looked after workers. After their arrival, Quigley did a demonstration of his ability to shoot and Marston engaged him to kill wild dogs, but in reality, it was to kill Aborigines. Quigley refused this mission and became a target for Marston, who send his men to let Quigley and Cora in the desert, to die by hunger and thirst. But the brave Quigley decided to save the Aborigines and to kill Marston.
In this movie, Alan is again a bad-boy, for our pleasure, and still a man in black :) It's again a movie in which his character dies at the end :( It's a good western movie, with beautiful landscapes, there are good action scenes and a nice story.
